Look out, Broadway! The St John’s D.S.G. Senior Primary girls showcased their amazing acting, singing and dancing this week for their production, The Wizard of Oz.
Wednesday, 13 September was opening night, and our Theatre was jam-packed. Dorothy (Emma Koen) wowed the audience when she performed Over the Rainbow so beautifully, and the Scarecrow (Tamlynn Roseveare), the Tin Man (Nadia Do Vale) and the Lion (Azane Khambule) induced a lot of laughter with their hilarious antics on stage. Zama Ntuli was a wonderful Glinda (the Good Witch of the North), while Nitya-Yauvana Naidoo made a very scary Wicked Witch of the West.
Well done to every Senior Primary girl for playing her special part in the play, and for doing so as enthusiastically as you did! You all made our School proud. Thank you to our Catering Staff for the lovely tea, as always, and to our Sound and Technical Team, as well as our Music Department, for the many hours they invested in making this production the success that it was. Most of all, we would like to say a huge “thank you” to Mrs Lucy Usher too, our director and producer of the show. Mrs Usher is a phenomenal Drama teacher and we are incredibly blessed to have her at St John’s D.S.G.!
