St John’s D.S.G. Knysna Relief

The St John’s D.S.G. community would like to extend a hand of hope to all those effected in the devastating fires in Knysna this week, so we appeal to all girls and parents in the Junior and Senior School to please donate to this worthy cause. The Junior School will be collecting one donation box per grade and the Senior School will have a drop off point for donations in the Senior Library. We would like to include the following items per box:

1 litre of long life milk, Pronutro/Futurelife, 14 cans of tinned food, teabags, coffee, biscuits, cooking oil, 2.5kg flour, cat food (small packet or tin),  dog food (small packet or tin),  toilet paper, soap, 4 toothbrushes, toothpaste and sanitary towels. A personal note of encouragement would also be a great idea to add to above mentioned items.

One of our mothers in the Junior School has a pilot contact who has kindly offered to fly our boxes down to Cape Town next week, for them to be included on the relief trucks going to Knysna. As time is of the essence, the deadline for donations is Wednesday, 14 June. If you have any queries, please contact Mrs Sarah Cole-Edwardes on 033 392 8090 or email marketing@stjohnsdsg.com. Let’s show the people of Knysna just how big our hearts really are!
