PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parents’ Association

The Parents’ Association of St John’s D.S.G. is made up of parents, with the attendance of Simon Moore and Petra Wiesinger and staff representatives. The Parents’ Association is there to assist the school by raising funds for identified items/projects and to liaise between the school and parents for the benefit of all.

Those steering the committee are:

  • Mr Gary Fyvie – Chairperson
  • Mrs Heather Evans – Secretary

The Parents’ Association is involved in two fund-raising projects which we encourage you to join. The first is the M-Student Card programme with Makro and the second is the My School Card. These require no effort other than signing up which can be done electronically or using the Related Links forms.

Mothers Who Care

Mothers Who Care is a ministry run under the auspices of Campus Crusade for Christ in South Africa. It brings together Christian mothers who want to intercede for their children in an environment where they spend a large part of their lives.

At St John’s D.S.G. a group of mums meet every Monday morning in the Chapel to pray for the needs of the girls, individually and corporately, their families, the staff at St John’s D.S.G. as well as for the Board of Governors. All prayer requests are dealt with confidentially.

We have seen many answers to general and specific prayers and it is such a blessing and privilege to be able to offer this ministry at school. Any Mums (and Dads) who would like to join us should leave a message for Tracy Karlsen at the school office.
