HEART-TO-HEART WITH LULU KHUMALO 💛

A people’s person, whether it’s in the work place or with family and friends, St John’s D.S.G. Old Girl, Lulu Khumalo (Class of 2013) believes in adding sustainable value and making a difference wherever she goes. After leaving St John’s D.S.G., Lulu went onto Rhodes University where she worked extremely hard to obtain her Honors Degree in Information Systems. Lulu is currently working at Analyse Consulting, in Johannesburg, as an Analyst. Whilst she navigates the ‘hustle and bustle’ of the city, she is also ‘Auntie Nunu’ to two adorable little girls.

It was an absolute pleasure to chat up with Lulu for our first Heart-to-Heart of 2022!

What did you love most about St John’s D.S.G?

I love the friendships I created whilst at school. I love the fact that my relationship with God was really formed during my time at St John’s D.S.G. and is still going strong.

What does success mean to you and how did St John’s D.S.G. equip you for life after school?

Success means creating a space that empowers people and I believe this is done by adding positive value to people’s lives. You need to be able to be impactful in order to be successful, and this is really done by helping businesses or people to recognize and develop their highest potential and achieve their goals. Learning to have a ‘big heart’ during my time at St John’s D.S.G. really equipped me to work on being my definition of successful.

What advice do you have for our current girls and their families?

Do not be afraid to be unique and speak out. Remember to indulge in things that bring you peace, calm, happiness and love.
