Our Grade RR and R Eaglets visited Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, 24 May. It was a wonderful educational opportunity for them to explore the outdoors and discover the beauty of nature. The girls thoroughly enjoyed walking around the picturesque gardens, playing “Poohsticks” (a game derived from the Winnie the Pooh books whereby each player drops a stick on the upstream side of a bridge and the one whose stick first appears on the downstream side is the winner) and burying one another in the colourful autumn leaves. By the looks of the photos, they had a wonderful time – although, the girls tell us their highlight of the trip was travelling on the St John’s D.S.G. bus! A big “thank you” to Mrs Alex Barry and Miss Kristy Burt for organizing such a lovely outing, as well as Miss Tessa van Duyn, Miss Makhosi Mlangeni, Miss Ashleigh Jennings and Miss Savannah Macphail who joined the teachers to accompany the Eaglets on the outing.
