The St John’s D.S.G. swimmers have done it again, winning their second gala in two weeks! The prestigious annual Dimont Gala, held at the Alexandra Baths in Pietermaritzburg, attracts many great “swimming schools” from around the Midlands and upper highway regions, including St Mary’s D.S.G., Kloof, Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School, The Wykeham Collegiate and Epworth School to name a few.
St John’s D.S.G. drew Kearsney College A Squad as their male swimming team mates and together, both schools dominated the rest of the field, winning in fine form. It has been many, many years since St John’s D.S.G. has won the Dimont Gala trophy and Mrs Cara Schirge says, “This is just awesome!”
The Dimont Gala is hosted by St John’s D.S.G. every year, and we would like to thank all the staff who attended this year for their assistance with the gala, including set-up, time-keeping and officiating. It was greatly appreciated.
