ANNUAL SCHOOL FEES:

EFFECTIVE JANUARY TO DECEMBER 2008

SCHOOL FEES:
Fees will be charged in TEN equal instalments from January to September (two instalments in January) and are PAYABLE BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH IN WHICH THEY ARE CHARGED. ANY AMOUNT OUTSTANDING AT THE END OF THE FOLLOWING MONTH WILL HAVE INTEREST ADDED AT THE RATE OF 2% PER MONTH.

These fees cover tuition in all subjects in the school curriculum including Class Music, Physical Education and Games.

REBATES:
Where two or more sisters attend the school at the same time, there is a rebate of 10% of the tuition fee for the second and any subsequent sister.

ANNUAL SUNDRIES CHARGE

(Includes IEB Senior Certificate Exam Fee R2 300) These fees, which are also charged monthly in TEN equal instalments, cover the cost of local transport to sporting fixtures and compulsory educational outings. Also covered are reasonable stationery requirements and badges awarded for achievement. (Excludes Text Books)

EARLY SETTLEMENT DISCOUNT:
Parents who pay the annual fees in full before 31st January 2008 will be entitled to a 5% discount. Please note that payment by credit card will not qualify for the discount.

NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL:
A FULL QUARTERÕS NOTICE, IN WRITING, OR ONE QUARTERÕS FEES IN LIEU THEREOF, IS REQUIRED BEFORE WITHDRAWAL OF A PUPIL FROM SCHOOL OR PARTICIPATION IN EXTRA SUBJECTS.

THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INCREASE FEES WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.

REGISTRATION FEE:
In the case of new pupils a Registration Fee of R500, which is not refundable, should accompany the Application for Admission Form.

ENTRANCE DEPOSIT:
On receipt of the Application for Admission Form, the pupil may be offered a place at St JohnÕs. In confirmation of acceptance of the place offered, an Entrance Deposit of R3 000 is payable for Day Scholars and R5 000 for Boarders. This amount is non-refundable.

EXTRA-TERRITORIAL PUPILS:
For Boarders living outside South Africa an additional sum of R2 000 is required when a place has been offered and accepted. An Extra-Territorial Charge of R150 per month will be made to cover additional administration costs.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE:
This insurance is compulsory and covers Medical Rescue Costs and Medical Expenses up to R15 000 for accidents which occur on the school premises or while participating in school activities. The annual premium is expected to be R80 and R70 for Boarders and Day Scholars respectively.

ADDITIONAL INSURANCE: (OPTIONAL)
Permanent Disability and Fees Remission Insurance is available on request and will be renewed automatically on an annual basis unless we are instructed to the contrary.

EXTRA SUBJECTS:
Music (Flute, Clarinet, Voice, Piano, Violin, Saxophone) Extra English and Afrikaans. Dancing (Ballet and Modern) Horse-riding, Guitar, Tennis

As per fees charged by the teacher or establishment concerned.

LUNCH FOR DAY SCHOLARS:
Lunch is available to day scholars at R400 per term or R13.00 per meal.

OVERNIGHT BOARDING:
Accommodation is available at R200 per night per person (includes all meals).
