The following sports are offered at St John's Junior School:
  • tennis
  • squash
  • swimming
  • cross-country
  • basketball
  • netball
  • hockey
  • judo
  • biathlon
  • beginners' golf

In the Junior Primary phase, extracurricular sport is voluntary and consists of Buddy Sport, where emphasis is placed on the acquisition of basic skills: the element of competition is kept to a minimum. However, Grade 3 pupils may participate in the Senior Primary sport programme at under 10 level.

Girls in the Senior Primary phase are expected to become involved in at least one of the sporting activities offered by the school in any given term.

Our annual gala in the first term, and the athletics day in the third term, for the junior primary girls is always a huge success. The girls and their parents enjoy the day and have lots of fun. The Phys.Ed. teachers practice the various events during the term so that the girls are prepared for the big day.

Sport takes place during the week between 14.00 and 15.00. (13.30 -14.30 on Wednesdays). Most matches are played during the week, with occasional tournaments being held on Saturdays.
